Turn Phases: Each player has there own seperate turn, in which they go through 5 phases.
- Dice Phase
- Set Phase
- Move Phase
- Act Phase
- Draw Phase
Dice Phase:Dice phase is when you roll two dice, one for ATK(Attack) and the other for DEF(Defence). The highest of the two is always set to ATK as this governs every action you make, including move, attack and using cards.
Set Phase:In Set Phase you can use Action Points to equip items or summon creatures. The yellow dot on each card shows how many points are required for the equipping or summon. The action points are subtracted from the overall amount of points you have so beware not to use too many or you wont be able to attack. Also there is a maximum equip amount, you can only equip/summon cards to a total value of 8 yellow dots, you will only be able to use more when what you already have are destroyed. When summoning a creature, it can be placed at certain points on the board depending on its value, lower value cards can be placed far from your current position while higher powered cards can only be placed near the back of your side of the battle board.
Move Phase:In move phase you can move your character or creature one block for one Action Point, however each character or creature has a maximum movement allowance as shown by "MV" on the card.
Action Phase - Attack:In this phase you can attack with weapons or monsters, each attack costs 1 point unless the character has restrictions otherwise. You can also use Action Cards here to increase the damage/range of an attack.
Action Phase - Defence:When under attack you can use defence cards if you have enough DEF points. You have to decide whether to use the card or not while the attack is in progress, you can also defend team-members with appropriate cards. If your weapon or creatures HP reaches 0, it is destroyed. Hero characters cannot be directly damaged unless you destroy there weapons/items first. With Arkz you have to get through there creatures to attack the main opponent.
Draw Phase:Draw phase is where you can discard unwanted cards from your hand, any cards you discard will be replaced at random to make the amount you hold up to five.
Aspects of battle:
The image above shows Hero Equip Rings, these show how many items are equipped, since items usually have to be destroyed before the Heros HP can be directly attacked they also can be seen as shield rings.
The image above shows one of the components that a map can be comprised of; there are stones, laser fences, warps and "trap assist cards".
Level and Gaining EXP:
After each succesful battle you will gain EXP, you can also lose EXP if you fail. The maximum C-Level is 999, and with a higher level come rarer card rewards. Chars cannot be converted over from previous versions of PSO so there wont be any high level chars from the start.
When you go online you will notice some ships have a B after them, these are Battle Ships, fighting on these risks losing EXP and on the flip side gaining more EXP for a win. If you just want to play for fun with friends its best to play off these kind of ships.
Online Lobbies:
This shows the EPIII C.A.R.D lobbies, this is during the Famitsu event which is why there are red posters everywhere.
This is the Lobby Warp.
Battle Tables, you can stand at these and wait for other players to join you for a battle, an alternative to making a room and waiting for people join. With this method at least you can chat in the lobby while waiting.
