On Phantasy Star Online III, there are two kinds of characters you will use:

These are the characters you can personalise to however you wish them to look, exactly the same as on PSO I&II. This character is only seen in Lobbies and onboard Pioneer 2, it is not used in the actual card battles. This is also where your entire card collection and "Decks" are stored. |
Decks are created by picking one of the pre-set characters and combining that with 30 cards from your collection.
You can make numerous Deck chars on your Avatar character for strategic selections. For instance if you are about to battle against a Hero force, you can have a deck setup just for this reason, with Magic defensive cards and specific attacks cards. |
